Manchester Police Arrest Nursing Supervisor From Toms River For Stealing Prescriptions

Lauren Thom, 32, was arrested when police responded to a medical emergency at Arista Care Assisted Living Facility.

A nursing supervisor at Arista Care Assisted Living Facility was arrested this week and charged with stealing prescription medication, Manchester Police announced on Saturday.

On Thursday night, May 16, at 10:46 p.m., Manchester Police reported to the facility in the Whiting Section of Manchester Township in response to a medical emergency.

During that visit, police were informed that Nursing Supervisor Lauren Thom, 32, of Toms River, was stealing prescription medication for her personal use, police said.

Police conducted an investigation, and found Thom in possession of numerous prescription medications. Thom was charged with five counts of theft and five counts of possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances. Her bail was set at $5,000 with a 10 percent option. Thom posted bail and was released pending a future court date.
