Manchester Police Charge Jackson Man With Cocaine Possession

Charges come following traffic stop on Route 37

Manchester police early Saturday arrested and charged a Jackson man with cocaine possession following a traffic stop on Route 37.

Robert Grimes, 50, of Basso Road in Jackson, was originally stopped on Route 37 and Commonwealth Boulevard at 2:20 a.m. by Ptl. Christian Nazario for an issue regarding his lamps, according to a statement issued by Capt. Lisa Parker.

Further investigation by Nazario and Ptl. Adam Guker revealed that the driver was "in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine," according to Parker.

"Associated drug paraphernalia was also recovered from the vehicle," Parker said in the statement.

Grimes was charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as summonses for his car's lamp maintenance and possessing a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

According to police, Grimes was released pending a court date.
