Manchester Township Police Charge Ewing Woman With Credit Card Fraud, Identity Theft

Woman shipped goods overseas to co-conspirator in Ghana

Manchester police arrested a woman who fraudulently used credit cards at big box stores in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, then shipped goods overseas.

Theresa L. Powell, 51,  Ewing Township was charged with credit card fraud and identity theft following a multi-jurisdictional investigation which included: Manchester Township Police, Logan Township Police and West Windsor Township Police.

The investigation, led by Manchester Township Patrolman Dave Fusaro, determined that Powell had fraudulently used credit cards to purchase electronics at Best Buy and Wal-Mart stores located throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Powell ultimately shipped the purchases to a co-conspirator located in the Republic of Ghana, according to the police report.

Powell was released from custody after posting $10,000 bail. Additional charges are pending, police said.
