Monmouth County Man Drives Cadillac Into Lakehurst House
Driver had been operating vehicle recklessly, according to police.
A man in his fifties driving a 1998 Cadillac Seville recklessly on westbound Route 70, approaching Lakehurst, crashed his vehicle into the back of a house at 800 Cedar Street, according to Lakehurst Police Chief Eric Higgins.
The driver, a Monmouth County resident, was transported to Community Medical Center, Toms River, with minor injuries. Police did not yet identify the driver.
No other injuries were reported. The driver was alone in the vehicle.

"An officer observed a reckless driver that ran a couple of cars off the road," Higgins said. "As he approached the [traffic] circle instead of negotiating it he went up Pine [Street] and ended up in the back of Cedar."
No one was at home at the house on Cedar at the time of the crash.

"Structurally the house is okay," Higgins said. "The building inspector has been there..."
