Crash occurred at intersection of Routes 70 and 571

A Manchester woman was taken to the hospital following a two car collision at the intersection of Routes 70 and 571 Thursday morning.

A Chevrolet Blazer driven southbound on Route 571 by township resident Monica Martinez, 21, was struck by a Ford van operated by Ocean Gate resident Joseph Pfeiffer, 55, as Martinez attempted to turn left on to Route 70 east at about 5:45 a.m. Thursday, said Capt. Lisa Parker.

Pfeiffer was traveling northbound on Route 571 at the time of the collision, according to Parker.
