UPDATE: No Cause Yet in Whiting House Fire

The fire destroyed a home on Morning Glory Lane last week.

A fire that left a Whiting resident homeless last week remains under investigation by multiple agencies, Manchester Township Police said, and no cause has yet to be released for the blaze.

Officers Chris Walaszek, Marc Micciulla Michael O’Hara, who responded to the scene in the 100 block of Morning Glory Lane around 4:45 p.m. Thursday, found the home up in flames but unoccupied, police said, and evacuated homes nearby that could've been threatened by the fire, which had already broken through the roof.

Firefighters from Whiting, Manchester, Ridgeway, Bamber Lakes, Lakehurst and the Joint Base brought the fire under control, but not before heat damaged nearby homes and rendered a neighboring home uninhabitable, as well, police said.
