Pine Lake Park Man Jailed on Multiple Drug, Weapons Charges

Manchester police and county officers executed search warrant Wednesday

A Manchester man faces numerous charges including drug and gun possession after multiple law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at a Pine Lake Park residence Wednesday.

, assisted by the Ocean County Regional SWAT team and Sheriff's Department K-9 unit, arrested and charged 25-year-old Joseph J. Zonin Jr. of Parkview Boulevard early Wednesday morning following a narcotics investigation by the department's detective bureau, said Capt. Lisa Parker. 

Among the charges, Parker said that the investigation found that Zonin possessed quantities of marijuana which indicate he was trying to grow the plant. Zonin also had a .25 caliber handgun with removed serial numbers and a pellet gun, police allege.

The charges against Zonin are: possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of the Schedule III narcotic Suboxone, possession of about $3,000 worth of prescription drug oxycodone, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a weapon with a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a defaced firearm, making terroristic threats and aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute the drug, and criminal attempt of maintaining a marijuana grow, according to Parker. 

The complaints against Zonin were signed by Detective Adam Emmons of the Manchester Township Police Department's Detective Bureau. Zonin was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $200,000 bail with no 10 percent option, Parker said.
