Police: Man Entered Home Armed With Weapons

Incident occurred Saturday afternoon, according to police

A mid-week incident between two men escalated Saturday in Manchester when one man entered the other's home armed with weapons.

A caller told police that Tishaun Henderson, 31, entered a Harrison Place home Saturday afternoon with a bat and "large knife" and was yelling obscenities at 26-year-old Christian Jones, said Capt. Lisa Parker in a statement.

"Patrol officers learned that the dispute stemmed from an incident that had occurred several days earlier in another town," Parker said.

Sharon Jones, a resident at the home, told Henderson that her son Christian Jones was not there. She also requested that Henderson stay out of the home, according Parker.

But the request was ignored and Henderson, armed with the weapons, entered the gated property and the home, Parker said.

"Henderson left only after Sharon Jones repeatedly told Henderson to leave or the police would be called," Parker said.

When officers arrived, Henderson had already left the property.

Henderson was located by Patrolmen Christian Nazario and Richard Mazza in the Richard Estates and was arrested without incident. Further investigation by police found that Henderson was in possession of a wooden baseball bat and "large" flathead screwdriver, according to the captain.

Police charged Henderson with burglary, two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, Parker said.

Henderson was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, where bail was set by Judge Daniel F. Sahin at $50,000 with a 10 percent option.
