Police Blotter: 4 Charged With DWI Last Week

Police reported charges from June 6 through June 11

Manchester police last week charged four drivers — none of whom lived in the township — with driving while intoxicated, according to information released by Capt. Lisa Parker.

The first charges came on June 6 when Martin Lyons, 51, of Yardville, was stopped by Ptl. Peter Manco on Route 571 and charged with the offense. According to Parker, Lyons was released pending a court date.

On June 10, Walter Barger Jr., 30, of Trenton, was charged with DWI after being stopped on Colonial Drive by Ptl. Christian Nazario. According to Parker, Barger was released pending a court date.

Two DWI charges were filed on June 11. Joseph D. Freire, 23, of Old Bridge, was charged after being stopped by Ptl. Danny Barker on Route 70. Freire was released pending a court date, according to Parker.

Michael Hernandez, 25, of Trenton, was charged with DWI on the same day following a traffic stop on Colonial Drive by Nazario. According to Parker, Hernandez was released pending a court date.
