Police Blotter: Alleged Crestwood Burglar Remains in Jail

Recent law enforcement activity reported by Manchester police

After weeks of reporting numerous drug charges, officers from the Manchester Police Department last week had fewer incidents to list on their blotter.

The big news to come out of the department last week was the arrest of alleged Crestwood Village burglar Jason M. Clancy, the 26-year-old man accused of stealing from several homes during a months-long string of burglaries in the Whiting senior communities.

Clancy has been in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River since Sept. 7, after  police arrested him at the Mill Road home in Crestwood Village VI where he lives with his parents.

With more charges issued, bail for Clancy has risen to $75,000 with no 10 percent option, according to Capt. Lisa Parker. Having not made bail, Clancy remains in jail, according to the Ocean County Department of Corrections.

The above charges issued by police are accusations and are not an indication of guilt.
