Police Blotter: Drug, Theft, Illegal Dumping Charges Issued

Manchester police activity from May 21 through May 27

police issued drug charges to residents from Ocean and Union Counties last week, according to information released by Capt. Lisa Parker.

Toms River resident Vincent M. Ricco was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in Holly Oaks by Patrolman Anthony Iliadis on Tuesday, May 22. Ricco was processed and taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, Parker said.

The second drug charge came on Sunday, May 27, when 18-year-old Avel D. Guevara of Elizabeth also was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance on Route 37 near Alexander Avenue by Patrolman Steven Wendruff. Police released Guevara with a court summons, according to Parker.

Escaped convict Joseph N. Brandt of Browns Mills was in Whiting. The 27-year-old was returned to state prison, Parker said. 

Thursday, May 24

Two Lakehurst men were charged with illegal dumping on Dace Road by Patrolman Christian Nazario. Ronald O. Bellavista, 28, and Joshua A. Safran, 20, were each issued a summons for the offense, according to Parker. 

Brian K. Funkhouser, a 21-year-old Manchester resident, was charged with theft on Lawrence Avenue in the township's Pine Lake Park section by Patrolman Patrick Cervenak. Police took Funkhouser to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.
