Police Blotter: Drug Charges Issued by Officers Last Week

Charges were issued by officers between June 17 and June 21

Officers from the issued drug and paraphernalia possession charges to three 18-year-olds in unrelated incidents last week, according to information released by Capt. Lisa Parker. 

The first of the charges was issued on Sunday, June 17, when Luis M. Alfaro, 18, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop conducted by Patrolman Steven Wendruff on Route 37 near Alexander Avenue. Police released Alfaro with a summons, according to Parker.

The next day, Toms River resident Erik Vrskovy, 18, was charged with drug possession at the Heritage Minerals site by Patrolman Dave Fusaro. Parker said that Vrskovy was released with a summons.

On Thursday, June 21, Maggaly S. Herrera, 18, of Newtown, was charged with drug possession on Route 70 near Tobias Avenue by Patrolman Brian Volk. Herrera was released with a summons, according to Parker. 

The above charges are not an indication of guilt.
