Police Blotter: Drunk Man Charged With Disorderly Conduct at Lakehurst 7-Eleven

Police charged borough resident after responding to fight call

A Lakehurst man was charged with disorderly conduct Tuesday night after police responded to a fight report at a borough convenience store.

After police dispatch received "multiple" 911 calls for a reported fight at the Lakehurst at around 9 p.m., Officers Jeffrey Emmons and Raymond Vosseller were dispatched to the 217 Route 70 store, said Sgt. Ronald Heinzman.

When the officers arrived, they found 19-year-old Richard Kopec "intoxicated and irate," Heinzman said.

Police arrested Kopec and processed him at department headquarters. Once charged, he was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River on $2,500 bail, Heinzman said.

Two juveniles from Jackson — a male and female whose names were not released by police because they are underage — were arrested for disorderly conduct and curfew violations, Heinzman said. The charges will be forwarded to the Ocean County Family Court in Toms River.
