Police Blotter: Forked River Pair Charged with Drug Possession

Charges issued by Manchester police between May 6 and 12

Two Forked River men were arrested and charged with drug possession last week, according to information released by  Capt. Lisa Parker.

Hector A. Mejias, 26, and Matthew T. Lonsdale, 30, each face possession of a controlled dangerous substance charges after being stopped along Route 37 by Patrolman Jesse Hoydis on May 12. Both were taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, Parker said.

Sunday, May 6

Darius D. Smith, 21, of Manchester, was charged with disorderly conduct on Savannah Road by Patrolman Adam Guker. Smith was released with a summons, Parker said.

Manchester resident Darrin M. Payne, 48, was charged with driving while intoxicated by Patrolman Peter Manco. Police released Payne with a summons, Parker said.

Monday, May 7

Eric C. Silver, a 20-year-old Galloway resident, was charged with theft on Connecticut Drive by Patrolman Peter Manco. Silver was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, Parker said. 

Tuesday, May 8

Manchester resident John P. Sheridan, 54, was charged with obstruction on Third Street in the township's Pine Lake Park section by Patrolman Matthew Juralewicz. Police released Sheridan on his own recognizance, Parker said. 

Toms River resident Joseph M. Lynch, 67, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Monmouth Avenue by Patrolman Anthony Iliadis. Parker said that Lynch was released on a summons.
