Police Blotter: Officers Issue Charges for Assault, Disorderly Conduct and Theft

Law enforcement activity in Manchester last week

Officers from the Police Department last week responded to disturbance calls and issued charges including disorderly conduct and assault in the process, according to information released by Capt. Lisa Parker. 

On Tuesday, July 31, police were dispatched to Fairway Lane in Whiting, where Patrolman Michael Anderson charged 63-year-old township resident Angela M. Marigliano with assault. Marigliano was released with a summons, Parker said.

Days later on Sunday, Aug. 5, Roderick J. Seward, 43, of Toms River, was charged with disorderly conduct on Beechmont Avenue by Patrolman Christian Nazario. A summons was issued to Seward, according to Parker.

Monday, July 30

Sean P. Sullivan, 21, of Toms River, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on Route 571 near Manchester's border with Toms River by Patrolman Richard Mazza. Sullivan was released with a summons, Parker said.

Tuesday, July 31

A Toms River man, 51-year-old Donald W. Terry, was charged at Manchester Police Department headquarters with endangering the welfare of a juvenile by Detective Albert Vega. Terry was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, according to Parker. 

Thomas J. Phillips, 20, of Beachwood, was charged with fraud and theft by Patrolman Richard Mazza after police located him in his hometown. Phillips was released from custody after posting bail, Parker said.

Wednesday, Aug. 1

Manchester man Jeffrey M. Smith, 26, was charged at Manchester Police Department headquarters with possession of stolen property by Detective Chris Hemhauser. Parker said that Smith was issued a summons. 

The above charges are accusations made by police and are not an indication of guilt.
