are asking for the community's help as they investigate an apparent burglary at a township church.

Police initially visited the Baptist Community Church, located on Horicon Road in Whiting, after receiving a report of damage to the front door on Nov. 22, said Capt. Lisa Parker.

Patrolmen Shawn Cavalcante and Jesse Hoydis arrived on scene to find that the front door and two interior doors had been broken into. Further investigation by the officers found that offices and the basement were "ransacked," Parker said.

Parker did not say what was taken from the church as its officials were unable to provide a list of missing items as authorities completed their initial investigation.

The Crime Investigation Unit from the Ocean County Sheriff's Department processed the scene, and Manchester Police ask that anyone with information about the burglary call Hoydis at 732-657-2009, ext. 6399.
