Police Charge Man in Connection with America's Keswick Theft

Manchester Police arrest and charge Hainesport man with theft or electrical wire and copper piping from religious campus

A Hainesport man was arrested and charged with burglary, theft and criminal trespass after being stopped by a Manchester patrolman in Whiting last week.

Police said that Jeffrey Street Jr., of Hainesport, a town about 30 miles west from the Whiting section of Manchester, was stopped by Ptl. Adam Guker on Feb. 19 and later arrested.

Guker was investigating a suspicious vehicleΒ parked alongside County Road 530 when he witness "a white male, dressed in park clothing" exit the wood line, enter the vehicle and attempt to leave the area, police said in a release.

The vehicle was then stopped and Guker observed "several coils of electrical wire as well as several lenths of copper piping in the nearby brush, next to the vehicle," police said.Β 

According to police, the driver admitted to removing the the wire and piping from an storage trailer. After being arrested and charged, Street was released.
