Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Police Investigating Drug Overdose Death

The victim was found not breathing at 3 a.m. Sunday, police say.

Police and the Ocean County Prosector's Office are investigating an apparent drug overdose death early Sunday morning, Toms River Police Chief Michael G. Mastronardy said.

Officers responded to a medical call at 3 a.m. and found a 40-year-old Toms River man not breathing as a result of a drug overdose, the chief said.

The man was later pronounced dead. Detective John Bajcie, Patrolman Ronald Bayer, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department are investigating, Mastronardy said.
