Police: Man Grew Marijuana in Outdoor Planter

Potomac Drive resident faces two drug charges

A patrolman spotted marijuana plants growing outside a Crestwood Village home while on an unrelated investigation Monday, leading to drug charges for a township man.

Patrolman Paul Bachovchin was working on Potomac Drive when he noticed the "multiple" marijuana plants in a planter outside of the home of 53-year-old Kevin K. Sangermano, said Lt. Vincent Manco in a statement.

Bachovchin, who was assisted at the scene by Patrolman Jason Wiener, spoke with Sangermano and determined that he owned the plants, according to Manco.

"Further investigation resulted in the seizure of additional quantities of marijuana and several articles of drug paraphernalia," Manco said.

Sangermano was arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession. He was released with a summons pending a court date, Manco said.
