Residents Indicted on Car Theft Charge

Grand juries hand up indictments

Two Manchester residents are free on bail after police charged them with stealing a car.

Anne L. Donahue, 31, of Thornbury Lane and Philip J. Cottone, 38, of Horicon Drive were indicted by an Ocean County grand jury last week on a charge of unlawful taking of a means of conveyance. Donahue also was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

The pair were arrested Nov. 11 in the township and accused of taking a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Donahue also was charged with possessing cocaine, the indictment states.

Donahue was initially held on $1,000 bail but posted Nov. 16. Cottone posted $7,500 bail Nov. 15.

  • Dennis Amend, 60, of Winchester Court on assault and driving while suspended charges.

Amend was arrested Oct. 2 in the township and accused of driving while suspended after his second drunken driving conviction. He also was accused of assaulting a township resident, the indictment states.

He was initially held on $50,000 bail but posted Oct. 3.
