Ridgeway Crash Sends Toms River Woman to Hospital

Crash occurred on county roadway Thursday night

A Toms River woman was taken to an area hospital by helicopter following a two car crash along Route 571 in Manchester Thursday night.

The crash in the township's Ridgeway section happened at about 8:15 p.m. when a westbound 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 21-year-old Heather Flitton of Toms River was turning left on to Fairfield Street and was struck by an eastbound 2004 Nissan Maxima driven by 28-year-old Malgorzat Florasklacza of Manchester, said Capt. Lisa Parker.

Filton was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was taken by MONOC Medivac helicopter to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune where Parker said she is in stable condition with head and leg injuries.
