UPDATE: Route 571 Reopened After Crash

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.

Both lanes has reopened after a serious crash on Route 571 forced detours on the road Wednesday morning, Manchester Township Police said.

The westbound lane of the road between Commonwealth Boulevard and Beacon Street reopened as of 1:30 p.m., police said, and the eastbound lane reopened around 5:10 p.m.

They need a traffic light or to make it illegal to turn left at this location. Same goes for 571 and 10th ave which is even more dangerous. Then again if police would start pulling over all the people that cut and speed thru PLP from 571 to 37 we have a lot less accidents in general in these areas.

@George if you live in this area why wouldnt you cut through Pine Lake park to get to Rt 37. I agree about the speeds seems nobody uses a brake anymore they just speed up to get over to drive around you, when you have to make a left to get into your street. this will only get worse. when i have to make a left into my nieghborhood i got one eye in the rearview mirror waiting for impact.
