Second Man Arrested In Senior Villages Burglary Spree In Manchester

Investigation began after 20 burglaries or attempted burglaries in late 2013

Manchester Township police have charged a second individual in connection to a burglary spree spanning several Manchester senior villages which occurred in late 2013.

Frederick C. Monahan III, 32, Sunset Road, Whiting, was issued a criminal summons on May 6 for one count of possession of stolen property following further investigation into the burglaries, police said today.

Police arrested Kevin M. Monahan, Union Avenue, Lakehurst on April 18 and charged him with 11 counts of possession of stolen property. His arrest came after a lengthy investigation into 20 burglaries or attempted burglaries in Crestwood Village V and VI, Country Walk and Whiting Station between Nov. 16 and Dec. 21 in 2014.

Manchester police were assisted in the investigation by officers of Beachwood, Toms River and Howell Township police departments.

Manchester Police continued the investigation after the April 18 arrest and executed search warrants at homes on Sunset Road in Whiting, Union Avenue in Lakehurst, and Veeder Lane in Bayville. A search warrant also was executed on a vehicle on Lake Street in Lakehurst. That continued investigation led to the charge for Frederick C. Monahan, police said.
