Thursday Crash Downs Pole, Causes Power Loss

Crash occurred on Route 530 in Whiting, police said

A Burlington County woman veered off of a county roadway Thursday, striking a utility pole and causing the loss of power to a Whiting retirement community, said.

The crash occurred at about 8:46 a.m. Thursday when a 2006 Ford Explorer driven 36-year-old Sharon Hatfield of Chatsworth left Route 530 eastbound and struck a pole, according to Manchester police Capt. Lisa Parker.

Power was out in the Pine Ridge South retirement community after the pole was downed, Parker said.
