Toms River Man Charged with Heroin Possession in Lakehurst

Man was taken to Ocean County Jail in Toms River

A Toms River man was arrested and charged last week by the after he was found in possession of heroin. 

The charges were issued as Lakehurst police officers were assisting officers from Manchester locate a "person of interest" on Hibernia Avenue in the borough at about 12 p.m. on March 23, said Sgt. Ronald Heinzman.

Heinzman located the man, 31-year-old Matthew J. Mennillo, who was found to be in possession of heroin and hypodermic needles, the sergeant said.

Mennillo was processed at the borough's police department headquarters and was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River. His bail was set at $10,000 by Lakehurst Municipal Court Judge Damian Murray.
