Toms River Pair Indicted in Shoplifting Enterprise

Retail thefts affected Ocean County Lowe's stores, authorities say

Two Toms River residents have been indicted by an Ocean County grand jury for running what is being term an "organized retail theft enterprise."

The indictment charged Anthony Italiano, 27, of Toms River, with second degree shoplifting for crimes committed "in furtherance of or in conjunction with an organized retail theft enterprise," according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's office. Italiano was also indicted on second degree robbery and second degree leader of an organized retail theft enterprise.

Katelynn M. Alaimo, 23, of Toms River, was also charged with second degree shoplifting for her alleged  participation.

According to prosecutors, the criminal enterprise allegedly affected Lowe's stores in Manchester, Brick, Toms River, and Stafford.

This indictment by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office comes as a result of an extensive investigation conducted by the Stafford Township Police Department, according to officials.
