Two Injured in Memorial Day Crash Along Route 571

Single-car crash forced closure of county roadway for about 45 minutes Monday

A Memorial Day crash on Route 571 sent two to the hospital and forced the closure of the county road for about 45 minutes.

The single-car crash occurred approximately 100 feet east of the entrance to the Surf and Stream Camp grounds at about 6 p.m. Monday, said Manchester Police Department Capt. Lisa Parker in a statement.

The driver, 39-year-old Jennifer Brennan from Manchester, was traveling west on Route 571 in a 2007 Ford Escape when she left the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle then re-entered the roadway, crossed all four lanes of travel and struck a second tree off the east bound side of the roadway, according to Parker.

The accident caused the closure of all lanes of travel on Route 571 for about 45 minutes. Patrolman David Fusaro is investigating the crash, Parker said.
