A Lacey police officer responded to a call in the 400 block of Windsor Avenue on a report of a struck car that night. Officer Evan Androcy stopped a vehicle fitting the one described at the accident scene a short time later on Route 9 near Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor, the chief said.

The damage to Butindaro's car was consistent with the damage to the vehicle struck on Windsor Avenue, Paprota said.

Butindaro was charged with DUI, refusal to submit to breath samples, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane. His car was impounded pursuant to John's Law and for further investigation, the chief said.
