Chris Christie Town Hall Rescheduled Due to Storm

Governor's first town hall since the GWB lane closure scandal has been pushed to Tuesday because of Thursday's forecast.

Gov. Chris Christie's town hall appearance in Middletown has been rescheduled because of an anticipated Nor'easter on Thursday.

Christie is expected to discuss distribution of federal Sandy recovery funds during the stop at Middletown VFW Post 2179 in Port Monmouth now slated for on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The 110th town hall will mark Christie's first time taking questions from a crowd since allegations of politically-motivated George Washington Bridge lane closures surfaced in January.

Doors open at 10 a.m., with the event starting at 11 a.m. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis and open to the public. No bags are permitted in the venue. Residents may RSVP for the session at TownHall.Middletown@gov.state.nj.us.

Following the town hall session, a Christie Administration Mobile Cabinet will remain on site to meet with affected residents and answer Sandy-related questions regarding housing and business assistance programs.

Remember: no bags allowed. It is a security threat. After all, this is a presidential candidate. Maybe he should just get Secret Service protection now instead of a couple years from now. Or maybe he should read up on Teddy Roosevelt, who I really do not like at all but whom I do respect for his willingness to defend himself. I believe he was the last president to carry a firearms and was repelled by the idea of the secret service. US politicians are big cats; really big cats!

"Impeach Christie..."
Mrs. G. February 12, 2014 at 05:24 PM
Isn't there a line going around something "we're stronger than the storm". Just a lot of hot air.
Chuck Cumella February 12, 2014 at 05:55 PM
The correct line should be. WRONGER THAN THE STORM !!

It also took Nixon a while to get out of denial and cover-up mode, until he resigned. - Watergate didn't hurt thousands of members of the public, but Bridgegate and Sandygate have done that. - We're waiting, Chris. There's the door (hint, hint).

It's nice to see Christie getting the disrespect this BULLY deserves. He has been a bully since day one and will continue to be. I am sure his mindless lemming followers with go right off the cliff with him. Listen for the pod piper folks and keep going when you hit the piers he still hasn't fixed with the money that is where exactly?! Probably going right into shoprite's cash register with chunks being spread throughout Roy Rogers, McDonald's and Burger King equally. What a slob and beyond a disappointment!

Thats what Im talking about brothers anonymous

Why reschedule? Just resign.
Andy Pat February 13, 2014 at 08:48 AM
It will be interesting to see how CC bullies people "to stay on topic, moron" when asking questions during a town hall meeting. The topic is Sandy funds distribution. Isn't that one of the 2 big scandals his Admin. is embroiled in?
JC in Bloomfield February 13, 2014 at 10:23 AM
I guess most of you posters really miss Florio, McGreevy and Corzine. Remember those days?
Harlan Consider February 13, 2014 at 10:27 AM
Right on, Patch. A simply re-scheduling story, but once again, you get a Christie story with photo up. And off we go again with the same old comments.

Although this article is a bit long, I think it gives some really fascinating insights into NJ politics in general, and our "Mr. Large-and-in-Charge" governor in particular. Interesting reading for a snowed-in day: http://www.newrepublic.com/article/116601/chris-christies-rise-and-fall

Even as I'm typing this there is most likely a two hour delay on the GWB and that generally tends to be the norm. That said, the only reason why this became such a big deal nationally is because of our Governor's threat to the progressive movement. As far as locally, I guessing the number one reason for all the hatred is because he made you folks PAY for some of your healthcare and retirement. GET OVER IT!! You no better than anyone else and GOING to PAY for a fair portion of your benefits...Just like everyone else.
J A February 13, 2014 at 11:52 AM
Who said anything about benefits and retirement?! Like most IDIOTS SUN TZU you speak like you know something when in reality your head is up your ass praying to the fat man. He has not DONE one thing for me as a NJ taxpayer. My real estate taxes are higher, the homestead rebate is gone and state tax is identical. Tolls are higher as well for the state. What is so progressive about what he is doing? Giving friends jobs like at the port authority and then throwing them under the bus? Oh yeah, that is extremely progressive in politics. If his port authority friend david wildstein was so bad, as your morbidly obese governor claims, why hire him in the first place? Oh yeah, progressive, progressive, progressive. Tell your progression to the folks in the shore towns still living in hotels. Another lemming about to go off the cliff because he is told NJ is better yet has nothing other than rhetoric. Nothing I said can be disputed. All factual information. Plus remember that for OVER the last decade, the state put nothing into retirement plans, but continue to take and use that money. I guess that is your definition of fair. ANOTHER CHRISTIE LOSER following the pied piper.

Harlan Consider February 13, 2014 at 12:21 PM
Can't get enough Christie? I am not kidding, but EVERY SINGLE NIGHT Rachel Maddow's MSLSD show runs a new "Christie scandal".
J A February 13, 2014 at 12:29 PM
@SUNTZU.....LOL. Another uneducated, useless comment. You can post again when you can actually add something to the conversation other than opinion and dribble.
Martin February 13, 2014 at 01:24 PM
What about the state's public hearing that was scheduled today at Brookdale? Has it been rescheduled for the same place, or is His Largeness pulling his team's neck back under its shell?
Sun Tzu February 13, 2014 at 02:53 PM
@JA Yes, I know...God forbid anyone should disagree with what you think. As long as the Patch moderators are ok with it, I'll post ANY time I want.
J A February 13, 2014 at 02:59 PM
@ SUNTZU. You should keep posting so people can the IDIOTS that continue to blindly support Christie. Disagree all you want, but do it with FACTS, not the head up your ass opinion about people paying for benefits or retirement when you have absolutely NO IDEA what you are talking about. The state requires any employee to be part of the pension system, NOT optional. To explain it clearly for you since you aren't the brightest crayon in the box, that means the STATE, your boy Christie, requires people to pay into a system, uses that money, doesn't contribute to it and then complains about it. How is that fair or progressive to get back to your original statement? Just because you hear 1% of an argument, to make OUTLANDISH statements like you do is just foolish, ignorant and uneducated. Hide behind the monitor tho because that's what bullies do. Pick on the weak and hide behind others when you are really challenged. You are a joke at best, just like Christie.
Gary Renfrod February 13, 2014 at 06:19 PM
Christie has been direct & clear in addressing the bridge thing. If its proven he's lied, then he has to go. But so far, there's been NOTHING that links him to planning, ordering, or approving the bridge closures. So, fat jokes aside (and good going you folks who claim he's a "BULLY") he's got my vote. And the vote of most of the state.
BRIDGEWATER RESIDENT February 13, 2014 at 07:23 PM
Hooray for Gary. I refuse to believe that a smart politician as Christie would jeopardize his career by doing something stupid that would create this insanity. We all must wait until we find out who should take the blame and personally, I do not believe it is the Governor. P.S. J.A. the homestead rebate is STILL in effect - you must make too much money and PROPERTY taxes did go down - SCHOOL taxes are the ones to blame. They went up-- get your facts straight.
Citizen of America February 13, 2014 at 08:39 PM
I love how the "wait 'til the facts come out" people were the first ones screaming about Benghazi before the facts were known. And Rachel Maddow spending one hour per night for 5 weeks on Christie pales in comparison to Fox "News" spending 5 years drumming up faux controversies and manufactured outrage about Obama. #SpareUsYourCrocodileTears #GOPHypocrites
Sun Tzu February 13, 2014 at 08:39 PM
@ JA I'll post and disagree any way I want and there not thing one you can do about it. I stand by my statement.
Grunt February 14, 2014 at 10:33 AM
It is so easy to identify the liberals posting here. They start all their comments with the liberal indoctrination default of name calling. Its sad that you do this as you may have had a valid point make, but that point is instantly detracted by this juvenile behavior.
Long Time Resident February 14, 2014 at 12:57 PM
I love how the "Benghazi isn't a scandal" people were the first ones screaming Christie is guilty of causing the traffic jamb before the facts were known. And I just love how the alphabet news networks had a Christie story every day for the last 5 weeks. Talk about fake outrage about nothing. #Killaryguiltyof Benghazimurders #libtardHypocrites
Ridgewood Mom February 14, 2014 at 05:30 PM
One shouldn't even consider anything liberals say. Liberals should be hated because they are retards. That's why I love Christie. He's the one who is willing to do whatever it takes to fight libtard policies, and see to it that our policies win. Even if he is a liar or a thug. That's fine with me. We are just so lucky to have him. I mean, do we want a libtard?
Long Time Resident February 14, 2014 at 06:13 PM
Off of your meds again I see Ridgewood Mom. Does your shrink know your not taking your meds?
Ridgewood Mom February 14, 2014 at 06:34 PM
Liberals also have to see shrinks and take medications. That's another reason libtards deserve our contempt. We should put people with disabilities in their place and not listen to anything they say. That's what our hero Chris Christie would do.
