Christie Coming To Ocean County Thursday

Governor visiting as part of "Endless Summer of Tax Relief: A Conversation at the Jersey Shore" tour

Gov. Chris Christie will visit residents in the Bayview Park pavilion in Long Beach Township on Thursday, according to Mayor Joseph Mancini.

Mancini, speaking at the Board of Commissioners meeting Friday, said the visit will be informal. The event will take place near 68th Street, and will likely occur in the afternoon.

Christie has visited Manasquan and other spots duirng his “Endless Summer of Tax Relief: A Conversation at the Jersey Shore” tour.

The Christie administration said the tour is a call-out for "Corzine Democrats to stop holding tax relief hostage and urge the legislature to continue the New Jersey Comeback."

In a release, he said state officials need to provide bipartisan leadership "by delivering tax relief to our citizens, making our state more competitive and allowing us to put more New Jerseyans back to work."

The governor has been holding town hall meetings throughout the state in recent months; he visited Manchester in March.
