Gov. Chris Christie's Manchester Town Hall Meeting Rescheduled

Governor will visit Manchester on Thursday, March 29

Gov. Chris Christie has rescheduled his visit to Manchester, weeks after a planned town hall meeting in Whiting was canceled. 

Christie will hold a meeting on Thursday, March 29 at the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs Consolidated Logistics Training Facility, 1 Pinehurst Rd. Doors open at 2 p.m. and the meeting is expected to begin at 3 p.m.

Christie, who has been touting what he calls "the New Jersey comeback," was set to visit Fernwood Hall in Crestwood Village 7 on March 14, but that event was canceled.

The meeting is open to the public and seating is on a first come, first serve basis, according to the event invitation. Seats can be reserved by completing an online form.

The town halls, where queries from the public are taken in addition to the governor's statements, are often packed events that cover a range of topics.

Earlier in March,  with hundreds of Monmouth County residents where he announced that state income taxpayers would see relief in 2012.

"We have turned Trenton upside down, absolutely upside down," Christie said of State Senate President Stephen Sweeney's introduction of a bill to give every state income taxpayer a 10 percent tax credit.
