Liquor Licenses, Fourth of July and Firing Range Agreement on June 2 Lakehurst Council Agenda

Find out what's on the agenda before heading to the 7:30 p.m. meeting

When the Lakehurst Borough Council meets on June 2, the agenda shows that the members will vote on resolutions renewing liquor licenses, approving Fourth of July festivities and sharing Manchester's firing range.

The meeting, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the borough's community center, 207 Center St., will be preceeded by a Redevelopment Agency meeting at 7 p.m.

  • Three liquor licenses are up for renewal in the borough: VFW Post 10061, Limelight LLC, which owns the license for Three B's, and an inactive license for Joseph Albero and Frank D'Apolito.
  • The borough will vote to approve the July 4 fireworks display held at Lake Horicon. The resolution states that the borough wishes to contract with Schaefer Pyrotechnics in Ronks, Pa., "based on their professionalism as the fireworks vendor."
  • The Lakehurst Historical Society is seeking two raffle licenses which would be used for July 4 drawings.
  • The council will vote on an Interlocal Services agreement with Manchester to use that town's Firearms Range Facility for "training, competition and other approved purposes." The agreement would apply retroactively from May 9, 2011, to May 8, 2012.

The Lakehurst Borough Council typically meets on the first and third Thursday of each month. The body will meet once in July and August before resuming twice-monthly meetings in September.
