Manchester Police Chief To Take Over As Acting Administrator

Move came after Township Administrator Elene Zsoldos arrested for cocaine possession in Asbury Park

by Patricia A. Miller

Manchester Township Police Chief Brian Klimakowski has been named acting township administrator in the wake of Elena Zsoldos' arrest for cocaine possession, Township Attorney Steven Secare said.

Asbury Park police arrested Zsoldos on Monday in Asbury Park and charged her with possession of cocaine.

Zsoldos, 44, a Berkeley Township resident, has worked for Manchester for roughly 15 years, including the last seven as Township Administrator, Secare said.

Mayor Michael Fressola suspended Zsoldos without pay and benefits this morning. Fressola said an audit of the township showed no money missing.
