New Venue Announced for September Zoning Board Meeting

Meeting will be held at the township's high school

Though for Ridgeway Elementary School because of the large crowd anticipated to come out to hear the application for a skilled nursing facility, the township's September zoning board meeting location has again been moved.

The Sept. 22 meeting will be held in the auditorium of , 101 South Colonial Dr., at 7 p.m., said board secretary Darlene Garcia. Expert testimony and public comment will continue in the controversial Manchester Rehab Realty application.

The was used for the board's August meeting after the courtroom at the municipal complex the hundreds of concerned residents who appeared at the board's regular meeting in July.

The application for the $25 million facility, which would be built at 3086 Ridgeway Rd., near the intersection of Routes 571 and 70, has  with those living nearby since it requires a variance as the land is zoned as residential.

Some nearby also worry that the facility could one day be used for drug and alcohol rehabilitation, even though Manchester Rehab Realty has not applied for those usages and could not offer those services without again going through the application process.

Three members of the planning board after four zoning board members who live in the Renaissance community, a neighborhood where many objectors reside, recused themselves to avoid any appearance of impartiality.
