No Surprises in Lakehurst's Uncontested Council Primary Vote

No seats are available in 2013 on Manchester's Township Council

The two Republican incumbents seeking to reclaim their Lakehurst Borough Council seats faced no challengers in their primary election bids on Tuesday. 

Glenn McComas and Steven Oglesby won their party's nomination to run for two open seats in November. No Democrats filed petitions to run in the primary, according to the Ocean County Clerk's Office. 

McComas took 48 votes and Oglesby took 59 votes, according to the county clerk's vote tally.

In Manchester, no seats on the non-partisan Township Council are available in 2013. 

The terms of Mayor Michael Fressola and council members Craig Wallis and Brendan Weiner expire in 2014, according to the county clerk. Manchester does not hold a primary vote for municipal candidates because of its non-partisan status.

The Manchester Board of Education seats of James K. Pate and Jackie Bermudez expire in 2013. Both filed to run for re-election and will not face any opposition as no other candidates filed, according to the county clerk. 

The Lakehurst Board of Education seat of April M. Chillemi expires in 2013. She did not file, nor did any other candidate for the seat, according to the county clerk.
