Residents Invited to Join Energy Savings Conversation Monday

Council will meet Monday at 6 p.m. at the municipal complex

Manchester officials are expected to discuss energy aggregation savings programs during their Township Council meeting this week.

Township officials in the past have discussed joining program and heard presentations from third party suppliers that may be able to save residents 10 to 20 percent on their electric bills through bulk purchasing.

Another such discussion is expected when the council meets for a regular session at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 23, at the municipal complex.

Under energy aggregation programs, billing and service remain in the hands of JCP&L, though a cheaper rate is achieved through the bulk purchase. Should the township choose to enroll in such a program, residents would be required to "opt-out" should they not want to participate.
