Back to School Fundraiser Targets Local Schools

Raising money for schools is an ongoing chore: there are cupcakes to bake, car washes to organize and raffle tickets to sell. So when Target offers schools the opportunity to earn up to $10,000 by simply clicking a button, it can seem hard to resist.

According to the megastore's website, voters simply choose a K-12 school in their list of eligible schools and vote for it weekly through Sept. 8 or when $2.5 million in Target GiftCards have been awarded, whichever occurs first. A school will receive a $25 Target GiftCard for every 25 votes received during the promotion period; up to a maximum of $10,000 in gift cards.

So far, no schools from Manchester or Lakehurst have earned a gift card. At last count, Manchester's has 8 votes, the and each have 6 votes, and has 3 votes. and have 10 votes tallied. 

All the other local schools can be found on Target's site to vote for. Simply click this link, search your school of interest — looking for "Manchester, NJ," "Whiting, NJ," or "Lakehurst, NJ" works just fine — and click vote now.
