Deadline to Return Project Graduation Raffle Books is April 8

Manchester high school seniors can return books to advisors or mail them to the municipal complex

The Manchester Municipal Alliance is asking high school seniors to return fundraiser raffle books distributed earlier this year by April 8.

According to a release issued by alliance coordinator Marianne Borthwick, seniors at Manchester Township High School were given the raffle books in January to help fund the purchase of prizes for Project Graduation. Each student was asked to sell at least one book of tickets in support of the annual alcohol-free post-graduation celebration.

"We really need your support for these events," Borthwick stated. "We have been successful for the past 15 years in providing our graduates with a great time and no serious or regretful incidents on graduation night."

Raffle books can be returned to class advisors at the high school or mailed to the Manchester Municipal Alliance, 1 Colonial Dr., Manchester, NJ, 08759.

According to Borthwick, plans for project graduation will be discussed by the alliance in the coming weeks and details should be finalized at the group's regular monthly meeting on April 26.

The alliance plans to offer students who sign up for Project Graduation a free evening at Blackbeard's Cave in Bayville. Prizes distributed at Project Graduation typically include items graduates need for college, such as microwaves, refrigerators and CD players, Borthwick stated.
