A Manchester Township High School English teacher died suddenly Sunday morning, school officials confirmed.

Tara Gardner, 38, had been an English teacher at the school; her cause of death was not immediately released.

The high school will open for students and staff at 10 a.m. Monday, Superintendent David Trethaway said, and counselors will be available to help with the loss.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tara and her family at this sad and difficult time,” Trethaway said in a message to the community.

There was no information immediately available about arrangements.

Joe g. Please don't continue with rumors. This is exactly what you are spreading. Tara has a family, friends and children that are still trying to understand this tragedy and who loved her very much. Sincerely, The family.

What a tragedy. Wishing the family, friends and students whom Tara touched comfort and peace during this difficult time. As a teacher, I know the difference I'm sure she made and her legacy will live on through her students and those who loved her.

Not the time or place. A family and a school is in mourning and I respect that. Sorry.
