'March Madness' Fundraiser Basketball Game Set for Friday

Proceeds will benefit scholarship fund and sick student

Members of Manchester PBA 246 will face off against high school faculty during a benefit basketball game Friday.

Doors to the "March Madness" game in the gym will open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 and proceeds will benefit the Coach Rodney Copeland Scholarship Fund and Trevor Martin, a sophomore basketball player who was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia in February. 

Prizes, food and raffles will be available at the event. In addition to the game, a 3-point shootout will be held.

MTHS English teacher Lisa Vecchione has agreed to shave her head if $3,000 is raised over the next two weeks. Vecchione said that, should the goal be met, she will donate her hair to charity.
