MTEF Announces Scholarships For Manchester Students

The Manchester Township Educational Foundation (MTEF) announced the availability of $15,500 in scholarship funds for 2013 graduates of Manchester Township Public School District.

  • Charles J. Hesse III Memorial Scholarship ($2,500 x 4 years) =$10,000.
  • Cpl. Nicholas Ott Memorial Scholarships ($1,000 each for three students)
  • Senior Citizens Club of Crestwood 4 ($500 each for one boy/one girl
  • Lakehurst-Manchester LIONS Club ($500 award)
  • WWII Veteran Walter A. Moderack Memorial Scholarship ($500 each for one boy/one girl)

For the fifth consecutive year, MTEF joins the Hesse Family and the Ocean County Landfill Corporation in accepting applications for the Charles J. Hesse III Memorial Scholarship of $2,500 per year for four years to a student attending a four-year college or university ($10,000 total award).

The Cpl. Nicholas Ott Memorial Scholarships honor Manchester’s Hometown Hero, a 2006 graduate of MTHS.  U.S. Marine Cpl. Ott made the ultimate sacrifice for his country while serving in Afghanistan in 2011. Three scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to students attending a post-secondary school program.

Also for the fifth year, The Senior Citizens Club of Crestwood Village IV is sponsoring one $500 award to a female student and one $500 award to a male student attending a two or four year college.

MTEF is pleased to offer the fourth annual Lakehurst-Manchester Lions Club Scholarship, a $500 award to a student attending a two or four year college.

This year, they proudly present the WWII Veteran Walter A. Moderack Memorial Scholarships, one $500 award to a female student and one $500 award to a male student attending a two or four year college. Mr. Moderack, a Manchester resident, was a decorated Army Veteran and recipient of the Bronze Star for his military service during World War II. 

Applications will be accepted via e-mail by the deadline of March 30, 2013. Please visit MTEF’s website for more details and additional requirements. (Document requests are due to the MTHS Guidance Dept. by approx. March 18.)
