PTA Presents $8,000 in Grants

Twenty-three grants for classroom equipment and projects presented at BOE meeting

The Manchester Township PTA presented $8,000 in grants to teachers for classroom equipment and projects at the February BOE meeting.

Co-Presidents Christine Grille and Cara McAllister presented checks to each school principal. They said they had 36 applicants this year and awarded 23 grants.

The grants included funding for Kindle Fires, life skill materials for an autistic class, high school band equipment, small dry-erase boards for classrooms, a puppet theater, audio books for "daily 5" centers and an iPad. Teachers and amounts are listed below.

Superintendent of Schools David Trethaway remarked, “We are very fortunate in Manchester to have an outstanding PTA.  Whatever funds you raise you always give it all back to the schools. There are so many programs we wouldn’t have without you and we can’t thank you enough.”
