Storm Threat Forces Postponement of Education Foundation Golf Outing

New date for fundraising golf event will be announced soon

The threat of inclement weather today has forced organizers to postpone a Manchester Township Education Foundation golf fundraiser.

A message posted to the organization's Facebook page Monday morning promises that a new date will be announced "soon" for the 4th annual outing, which was scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Lakewood.

"We are sorry to announce that, due to impending thunderstorms, our Golf Outing is CANCELLED for today," the post reads

The National Weather Service forecast calls for a possible thunderstorm before 2 p.m. Showers are also likely throughout the day, as the chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

An awards dinner was scheduled to cap off the day's events at 7:30 p.m., according to the foundation.

More information on the event, including a listing of sponsors, is available on the MTEF website
