Ashley Valinoti’s Focaccia Grilled Cheese and Hailey Dries’ Ultimate Chicken Bacon Grilled Cheese tied for first place in the first Manchester Township High School Grilled Cheese Challenge.
Several students from Mrs. Radowitz’s Intro to Foods classes competed in the after-school cook-off that had teachers volunteering as judges.

Ashley’s entry was made on focaccia bread using mayonnaise instead of butter. Inside, she used mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, bacon and tomato. Hailey used sourdough bread with cheddar and jack cheeses accompanied with shredded rotisserie chicken, honey barbecue sauce and bacon.
The winners will see their sandwiches served in the school cafeteria for lunch one day and the judges suggested that students could then vote to choose the ultimate winner.Find out what's happening in Manchesterwith free, real-time updates from Patch.
