MANCHESTER PAL 2012 FISHING DERBY

GET HOOKED ON FISHING NOT ON DRUGS

The Manchester Township Police Athletic League in conjunction with the Manchester Township Municipal Alliance has set May 19, 2012 as this year’s Fishing Derby date. The Derby will run from 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. This event will be held at Harry Wright Lake in the Whiting section of Manchester Township.

The past Derbies have proven to be a tremendous success due to the support of the Mayor Fressola, Township Council, Alliance, Public Works and Recreation Department. Volunteers and generous donations from local businesses have made this a great day for our community. The Ocean County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs is supporting this year’s Derby as well as past years. The Derby sends an educational anti-drug and alcohol abuse message as well as fishing education and fun. Manchester PAL will provide fish for children to stock in the lake.

This event is for children up to 15 years of age. There is no fee charged to attend this event. All children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian 18 years or older to participate. To register for the derby you can register online at manchestertownshippal@gmail.com. Please include your name, address and phone number, name and age of the children participating along with the number of adults attending. You may also fill out a standard white index card with this same information and mail the completed card to: MANCHESTER PAL, PO BOX 487, LAKEHURST, NJ 08733, and SEND ATTENTION “FISHING DERBY”. Registrations must be received no later than May 14, 2012. Attendance and prize availability may be limited so do not delay your registration.

Only one possible prize per participating child. Registered child must be present during the event and drawing to collect prize. If anyone would like to donate or volunteer for the event please email your interest or telephone Manchester PAL at 732-657-7876 and leave a message.
