Roy Halladay Makes Rehab Start for BlueClaws Tuesday

The pitcher is coming off shoulder surgery earlier this year.

T-time Cy Young Award winner Roy Halladay will male a rehab start for the the Lakewood BlueClaws Tuesday night, team officials announced.

The start comes at the start of a three-game series against the Hagerstown Suns as the BlueClaws return to FirstEnergy Park for the first time since Aug. 11. The former ace of the Phillies and before that the Toronto Blue Jays is working his way back from shoulder surgery, which he underwent in May after a disastrous start to the season.

Halladay’s appearance with the BlueClaws comes a little more than a year since slugger Ryan Howard made his own return to Lakewood as part of a rehab  assignment.

First pitch for Tuesday is scheduled for 7:05, and it is also Jake Diekman “Made the Phillies” Bobblehead night. The first 2,000 fans will receive bobbleheads of the sidearm-throwing former BlueClaw. It is also a Senior Tuesday where the team’s older fans eat for free as well as Faith and Family Night and Farm Night.
