Manchester Celebrates Independence Day Saturday

Lakehurst will hold its celebration on July 4

Locals are invited to commemorate Independence Day a few days early in Manchester when the township hosts its celebration on Saturday, June 29.

The event, which kicks off at 5 p.m. at Harry Wright Lake in Whiting, will feature bands, food, free children’s rides and a fireworks finale. This marks the 20th year that Manchester is celebrating Independence Day and Founder’s Day together, officials said.

“The Manchester firework show is one of the best in New Jersey,” said Councilman Sam Fusaro. “Our celebration just gets better every year.”

At 6 p.m., the band Rave On takes the stage, followed by Jersey Sound at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks are expected to begin around 9:15 p.m.

Councilman Brendan Weiner, who is a member of the Lakehurst/Manchester Rotary, will be at the celebration looking to raise scholarship money for the students of Manchester.

Lakehurst will host its Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 4. It kicks off with a classic car show at 9 a.m. at the Lakehurst Elementary School on Union Avenue, followed by a parade at 11 a.m.

Fireworks at Lake Horicon will begin at dusk, according to the borough.
