Two shows were held Thursday in the borough

Were you one of the over 1,000 spectators to attend the first circus in Lakehurst since 1996?

Manchester Patch was at the Kelly Miller Circus on Thursday, when the travelling performers put on two shows. Check out the photos we snapped, but more importantly, we'd like to see your shots — you can upload them right to this article.

Elephants, camels and zebras joined human performers including acrobats, clowns and jugglers for the two hour performances at the borough's ball field at the corner of Chestnut and Myrtle Streets, near the .

"The tent is the star of the show as well," said Ringmaster John Moss, who has been in the circus business since 1985. "It's unusual these days to see a circus under a tent."

The circus was brought to the borough by the Lakehurst Volunteer Fire Department as a fundraiser, and a portion of ticket sales went to the emergency responders.
