A Thank You to The People of Whiting!

It’s been 23 wonderfully successful years since Joel first opened the doors of Village Opticians! And we have you, the people of Whiting, to thank for those years. We appreciate your support and loyalty. Thank you!

When Joel first opened the doors to Village Opticians in April of 1991, he was a newcomer to the Whiting business community. He and his wife, Sharon, were celebrating the birth of their third child, Kimberly and already had two children at home, their son Jerry, age 3, and their daughter Krissi, age 2.

Over the next few years Joel worked to build a solid reputation in the community by providing great customer service and maintaining personal hands-on relationships with his customers. He saw both his business and his family grow quickly and his fourth child, Jacki, was born in 1995. His children are now grown and Joel is proud to announce that his son, Jerry, has recently earned his Ophthalmic degree and is now a licensed Optician himself. The Wolf family is continuing to grow today as Joel is now a proud grandfather, with another Grandbaby on the way!

Joel describes Village Opticians as a place with “old time values.” He does not believe in suckering his clients into buying the most expensive glasses, or ones that are not right for them. There are no gimmicks or false advertising at Village Opticians, just a wide variety of frames and a Licensed Optician, who truly cares about you.

Going to Village Opticians is more than just an investment in good eye care. It is an investment in the community. Joel strongly believes that, “Shopping locally is one of the best ways to build a stronger, more prosperous community. Dollars spent in locally-owned businesses have three times the impact on the local community as dollars spent at national chains.”

Helping the community is very important to Joel. He continually donates gift certificates and baskets to club house and community projects, and offers a discount program to local volunteers, such as the Whiting Volunteer Fire Department, First Aid Squad, CARES and those serving in the military.

Joel’s welcoming and helpful nature invites customers in and makes them feel at home at Village Opticians. Please stop in and give Joel the opportunity to show his appreciation for your ongoing support and loyalty. He would love to say “thank you”, personally to each and every one of the people that have allowed him to continue doing what he loves, in a community as special as Whiting, for the past 23 years.
