Lakehurst/Manchester Rotary Welcomes New President, Member

Cyndy Bove chosen to lead the philanthropic organization's local chapter

The Lakehurst/Manchester Rotary Club has a new leader for 2012-13, as Cyndy Bove recently was sworn in as the organization's new president.

District Governor-elect Shiela Vinton swore in Bove during a late-June meeting. Bove replaces Tim Collins in the post, according to a news release issued by the club. 

Bove was selected as president-elect last year. She told Patch in an email then that she felt "blessed on a daily basis that I have the opportunity and the support from my family to be able to serve and give back to the community."

Members of the 2012 board were also sworn in, and new member Kelly Weiner was welcomed during the meeting. 

Collins, along with president-elect Dave Manzo, were presented with the Paul Harris award.

"The honorees were awarded for their philanthropy, generosity and overall extraordinary contributions to the community," said member Brendan Weiner in the release. "The Paul Harris Fellow is the Rotary Club's highest honor."

During the club's reorganization meeting, Collins summed up some of the events in which members participated. They included the in Lakehurst, program, a and the New Jersey State Police boating safety awareness campaign. 

Rotary International has over 1.2 million members who serve in 33,000 clubs in over 200 countries, according to the release. Those interesting in joining the organization, which meets each Thursday, 7:30 a.m. at the Lakehurst Diner, can contact Weiner at 732-232-9542.
